We went through the no longer secret door, which is now disabled, by levering it open with a crowbar. We checked the statue room to the south, now blessedly rat free. Bancroft insisted in climbing down the pit for some reason, and found a dagger under the bones. We headed north. As we were checking previously looted burial alcoves, we were accosted by two gem skeletons. Sylvanus abandoned Bancroft, and he wasn’t able to turn them. Riyou downed one with two mighty bowshots from ten feet up, clinging to the burial alcoves with her feet. I wasn’t able to hit the gem to crush it, too small a target on the ground.
The lantern went out. What’s the point of hiring torch bearers if they don’t monitor the light? Then, because we didn’t have enough trouble, zombies were attracted by the noise. Tolm ran, knocking Bancroft over. The two remaining henchman both tried to light the lantern and failed, so we remained in the dark with two gem skeletons and an unknown amount of zombies. Finally, Bancroft cast light so we could see and I wasn’t swinging at nothing. The skeleton in front of me reconstituted despite Seacrock cracking the gem with a spell. The other skeleton backed off, but it had a bow, so it might just be making room to shoot.
We heard the necromancer say “Ah, we meet again. Do you like my pets?” He told the undead to attack Bancroft. We both missed the skeleton. Bancroft pushed through and moved towards the necromancer. The necromancer unsuccessfully cast a spell and backed off like a coward. Bancroft and I started making our way towards him. Bancroft managed a hit, and Seacrock kept taking pot shots with magic missile. Riyou snuck up and shot him, dealing a good deal of damage. Bancroft and I gave chase.
The zombie downed Riyou, who had just lit a lantern. Luckily it didn’t go out. I moved up and hit the necromancer, but shadows took the lights out. Bancroft cast light again. The necromancer yelled to the zombie to take Riyou somewhere. I heard Seacrock yell, so he might be hurt or dead. Then we heard yips and sounds of battle as mongrels entered the fray. I guess the mongrels were fighting either the zombie or skeletons. Hopefully they save Riyou and Seacrock too. Bancroft and I kept chasing the necromancer into the dark, hitting him when we could get close enough.
